Our New Team Member 

We are looking for an enthusiastic self-starter who is passionate about data privacy. Most importantly, this individual must be a team-player who is comfortable working in, learning from, and contributing to our virtual office environment.

Duties And Responsibilities

We pride ourselves on taking the time to really understand our clients and how they collect, process, share, and store personal data. Based on these factors, we develop and implement privacy programs tailored to the client’s needs. We then implement that strategy by advising the business on data protection best practices, managing critical operational data protection activities (like data security assessments and audits), and providing employees with data protection education, training, and strategies. Our new team member will:

  • Perform all required tasks of a data protection officer as set forth in Article 39 of the General Data Protection Regulation
  • Abide by and contribute to Advisori’s data protection and privacy playbooks
  • Assess our clients’ existing privacy processes and operations
  • Develop, implement, and track client privacy program remediation/build plan
  • Build and maintain Records of Processing Activities (ROPAs), pursuant to Article 30 of the General Data Protection Regulation.
  • Develop and maintain data protection notices and policies
  • Perform privacy impact assessments and data protection impact assessments
  • Conduct data transfer impact assessments
  • Advise and counsel on GDPR compliance best practices
  • Prepare written privacy reports and brief client executives on the findings
  • Develop and operate a data subject access request response procedure
  • Serve as the first point of contact for data subjects and the ICO
  • Provide internal privacy trainings to management and staff
  • Keep up to date with changes in data protection law and regulations

Education and Experience:

  • Two to three years experience as a Data Protection Officer
  • A law degree preferred, but not required
  • One or more data protection qualifications such as EU-GDPR-P, CIPP/E etc

Personal Attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently, but still thrives in a collaborative, team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and assignments
  • High attention to details
  • Higly communicative and responsive to client and team requests

Required Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with the use of Microsoft applications (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience using Microsoft Teams and Zoom
  • Experience with OneTrust, Security.ai, and Osano
